[NY 93536411] On October 15th, 1832, a hoard of about 8000 Anglo-Saxon stycas was found on the west side of the north transept of Hexham Church Priory at a depth of seven feet and about three yards from the wall. The coins were contained in a bronze vessel and range from c.AD 794 to c.AD 834. Three hundred of the coins were presented to the British Museum. Another large hoard of stycas was found near the same spot during grave digging on December 23rd 1841. The coins were all in good condition. (1)(2)

At NY 93526412 are two gravestones recording burials of 1832 and 27th December 1841. They are situated 3 yards from the north transept wall and may be the graves where the coins were found. (3)
