The parish church of Blanchland was once the church of Blanchland Abbey. It was begun in 1255 though further parts were added in the later 13th century and 14th century. Following the Dissolution of the Monasteries the church fell into ruin, until it was repaired in the mid-18th century. Inside the church several medieval grave slabs can be seen This is the only intact example of a church built by monks of the Premonstratensian order. This is a Grade I listed building.
