A survey of c.1715 (a) refers to Whitley Chapel as a chapel of ease dedicated to St Helen; it was rebuilt in 1662. (2)
For a time prior to 1746 it was used as a school, but was reconsecrated in 1764. The present structure, a rebuilding of c.1742, incorporates an early three-light window. (3-4)
Restored and in use. The three-light window is in the east wall. (5)
