Farmstead (Otterburn)
NY 869946. Medieval/post-medieval farmstead. (1)
The foundations of a roughly rectangular building and associated paddock lie within the north-east angle of a Romano-British farmstead, 550m south-east of Shittleheugh. The building is not considered to be contemporary with the enclosure, but constructed at a later date. The Romano-British farmstead is scheduled, national monument number 21044. (2)
A linear structure, presumably the 'medieval building' referred to above, lies astride the enclosure ramparts in the E and is linked to an enclosure to its N. Visible on lidar imagery. (3)
