Hopefoot Mill (Otterburn)

The extensive remains of a water cornmill stand on the west bank of the Otter Burn at Davyshiel. They include six ruined buildings and a mill race. The Elsdon Parish Register records Hopefoot Mill in the late 17th and 18th centuries and a shepherd was living here in the mid 19th century. The buildings were demolished in the early 20th century and the stone reused elsewhere.
