Bellingham Tile Works (Bellingham)

Some of the ironworks buildings were re-let as a tilery. (1)

Manager of the tileworks and a tileworker are listed in 1855. (2)

Tileworks noted in a general review of clay-based manufacturing sites in the north east of England; operational in 1862. (4)

Remains of the tileworks were uncovered in 2024 during ground clearance works. The Ironworks (HER 7993) closed in 1849 and the land and buildings sub-let where possible. (5)
