Church of St Cuthbert, grade II listed building. Parish church. 12th century; bellcote and south door added 1735. 17th century priest's door. 12th century chancel arch. Four medieval grave slabs attached to nave wall. (1)

Church lies in an 'exposed and solitary position'. Basically Norman. (2)

Church with a complex medieval and post-medieval history. Discussion and analysis of structural development and observation that there is evidence of the nave having been vaulted for defensible, or fire-proofing, purposes in the later medieval or early post-medieval period. It is suggested that the nave was converted into a defensible retreat (strong house or bastle) around 1600. (3)
