Greenrigg Moor cairnfield (Hexhamshire and District)
The remains of a small prehistoric cairnfield were discovered in the 1990s on Greenrigg Moor. There are about six cairns, each about 1.2m across and up to 0.4m high, scattered over an area about 100m by 60m. There are also some low stony banks running across this area and two of the cairns seem to be connected to them. This may be the remains of an early field system.
