Sunilaws Railway Station (Carham)
Sunilaws Railway Station, on NER line from Tweedmouth to Sprouston Junction. The station building is still extant and used as a private residence. Part is two storey, part is single storey in squared stone. Gabled slate roof, mix of 12, 4 and 2 pane sash windows. Modern porch to platform has a NER clock facing platform at the east end. Remains of crossing gates, ie gate posts. Shidlaw Farm siding c.1.5km to the west.
The station was originally owned by the Newcastle and Berwick Railway; then the York, Newcastle and Berwick Railway from 9 August 1847; the North Eastern Railway from 1854; the London and North Eastern Railway from 1923; and British Railways from 1948. The branch from Tweedmouth to Kelso was opened as far as Sprouston on 27 July 1949 and reached Kelso on 1 June 1851. The line connected with the North British Railway at Sprouston Junction. Closed to passengers 4 July 1964 and to goods 29 March 1965. Originally called Wark and renamed 1 October 1871. (1)

The station had two staggered platforms either side of a level crossing with a two-storey combined house and office building on the up platform, a goods yard and a signal box. The station is now a private house, complete with the platform and original features. At the level crossing the track has been tarmacked over. (2)
