The mill was built in the early 19th century and is a so-called `Napoleonic mill'. It was built during the wars between England and France, when land not usually farmed was brought into cultivation. Some of the stone used to build the mill came from the ruins of Dally Castle. The mill worked for about 40 years and was then used as a farm building and store. More recently it has been converted into a cottage. As well as the mill, there is a corn drying kiln and this has also been altered.
