Polished stone axe (Bardon Mill)

NY 778653 A polished stone axe turned up by a mechanical excavator while laying a water main beside the road a quarter of a mile east of Westwood Cottages, Thorngrafton. Presented to the Museum of Antiquities, Newcastle by Mr R W Harding, Westend Town. (Accession no 1960.39). (1)

Mr Harding found the axe in the 'summer of 1960' at approximately NY 77986516. (2)
