Scheduled. (5)

The only evidence that the turret was occupied before demolition for the building of the fort comes in the form of a reddened stone in the north wall, believed to be hearth; no other finds were reported in the 1945 excavations. The turret was of normal dimensions. (6)

The foundation stones of the turret have been exposed by the excavations within Housteads Fort at NY 7896 6884, having been overlain by buildings that were contemporary with the occupation of the fort. (7a)
