Possible site of a medieval shieling. (1)
Part of national monument number 26062, scheduling revised on 14th July 1997. A shieling survives as an upstanding feature about 140m east of turret 40b (NY 76 NW 3). Remains of a building, probably a shieling; stony banks 0.2m high, scarp 0.3m high to south; built on the Military Way. (4a)
Recorded as part of the WHS Mapping Project. The shieling is narrow, approximately 28m in length overall. (4b)
