Belling Mill, Kielder Water (Falstone)
A small post-medieval settlement once stood on the west bank of the Belling Burn. It is first recorded in 1663 and comprised two houses, a mill, mill race and corn drying kiln. Before the reservoir was flooded, the kiln was excavated in 1973. Its walls were found to stand up to 1.8m high and coin of 1696 was discovered in its structure.
