Wydon deserted village (Featherstone)

A settlement is known at Wydon from the 13th century. A series of medieval documents record the number of taxpayers in the 13th and 14th centuries. For instance, 27 adults were listed in 1377. The village of about eight houses is shown on a map of 1749, but by 1769 only two buildings are shown. Today it is a single farm and no earthworks of the medieval village survive.
