Probable burial cairns (Hartleyburn)

NY 63976105 'A'. Situated on a gently sloping terrace on a south facing hill slope of rough pasture-land is a turf covered mound of stones 7m diameter and 0.6m maximum height. It has been 'hawked' just to the north-west of centre and is surrounded by a shallow ditch 0.2m deep and 2m wide.
About 12m due west of 'A' is another small turf-covered stony mound 'B' which is 4m in diameter and 0.4m maximum height with a small central depression. There is an impression of a slight surrounding ditch.
About 18m south west of 'A' is another turf-covered mound 'C' which is 3.4m diameter 0.3m maximum height. Apparently undisturbed and no trace of a ditch. Although these fall on the north east edge of an area of stone clearance heaps (see NY 66 SW 13) they are not of the same character and are probably burial cairns. See photographs. Surveyed at 1:10,000. (1)
