Remains of a shieling near Parker's Shield sheepfold (Knaresdale with Kirkhaugh)

NY 64815334 Remains of a shieling, 28ft by 16ft. 'Under south of two smaller sub-divisions of Parker's Shield Fold'. (1)

Situated on level ground on a generally north facing hill slope, the remains of the shieling are now indistinguishable from the largely tumbled sheepfold walls which average 0.5m wide and 0.5m high. Surveyed at 1:10,000. (2)
