Coanwood Deserted Medieval Village (Coanwood)
Evidence from old documents suggest that some buildings did exist at Coanwood from as early as the 13th century. At that time there was a manor at Coanwood owned by the Roos family. By the 16th century there were two settlements called East and West Coanwood. Records of hearth taxes dating to 1666 record 10 houses at East Coanwood. There is nothing visible at the site today.
