[NY 67455935] Convent (Site of). (1)

All trace of the priory of Benedictine nuns at Lambley has been washed away. Dedicated to St Mary and St Patrick, it was founded AD1190 and dissolved in 1537. (2)(3)(4)

There are no structural remains but the site is distinguished by hummocky ground at NY 67445935. (5)

Medieval fragments are visible in the garden of Lambley Farm. The out-building adjacent to the farmhouse is subject of a planning application (91/E/LB889) to convert it into domestic use and may be of medieval origin, but is most certainly a bastle derivative. Visited by P Ryder and C Hardie on 5th December 1991. (6)
