NY 69934940 A medieval pillar cross, set in a modern base. See G.P. AO/56/303/5. A plaque inside the church states that the cross was restored in 1889. (2)

As described. Surveyed at 1:2500. (3)

18/148 Cross 10m south of parish church door.
GV Grade II*
Cross, Pre-Conquest on 19th century base. Sandstone. Shaft and cross head, of slightly 'hammerhead' form, are cut from a single stone. No visible carving or ornament. Having served as a gatepost for many years, the cross was re-set in the late 19th century on a stepped base of rock-faced and margined stone. (4)

Complete cross-shaft with head. Condition complete but weathered. Head type is A10. On one broad face there are two lightly incised crosses of type A1 at the top and bottom of the shaft. Similar crosses from North York Moors seem to have been boundary or roadside crosses. Probably dates to second half of 11th century. (5)
