Newton by the Sea (Newton-by-the-Sea)
This is the probable site of the deserted medieval village of Newton-by-the-Sea, which was first recorded in 1296. Although there are only a few earthworks to be seen, it is possible to recognise the plan of the village. There were two rows of buildings facing each other across a green.
