Ridge and furrow and enclosure at Foxton Hall (Lesbury)
Medieval farmers created these ridge and furrow earthworks. In the same area, at an unknown date in the past, people constructed a long, narrow, roughly rectangular enclosure, surrounded by a ditch. The ridge and furrow and enclosure are preserved as cropmarks on an aerial photograph although they have since been destroyed by a golf course.
