Mustardhill Plantation, possible enclosure (Craster)
North of Mustardhill Plantation lies a sub-circular enclosure mostly visible as a cropmark but with the eastern side apparently surviving as an earthwork. Possible entrance on north side. Visible on aerial photographs. (1)
Cropmark/extant. Sub-rectangular feature, c.60m square, with a single perimeter. Possibly extant on the east side. (2)
A probable Iron Age/Roman curvilinear enclosure is visible as earthworks and cropmarks on air photographs, centred at NU 2442 1973. The triple-ditched enclosure, with an internal bank, has a maximum internal dimension of 63m. The innermost ditch may be a pallisade trench. Possible internal features are also visible. The earthwork element of the feature is still extant on the latest 1995 Ordnance Survey vertical photography. (3a)
