On this beach in 1983, archaeologists found two Bronze Age cairns, containing two skeletons and one cremation burial. A Mesolithic midden was discovered underneath one of the cairns. Near this site in 1994 archaeologists excavated two more Bronze Age burial cists. Each cist contained a burial and a pot. Another Bronze Age cist was discovered nearby in 1995.
