Hadston Mill (Togston)
(NU 26880128) In 1257 the mill at Hadston was worth 24s a year. Its site was near the boundary between Low Coldrife Farm and Togston Low Hall, about 100yds from the road leading from Amble to Low Coldrife. The mill is mentioned in 1663. (1)
The site deduced from T1 occurs near the summit of a slight rise. The whole area is under grass, with ridge and furrow ploughing and there are no remains or other surface indications to be seen. The absence of any water supply and the topographical situation point to this being a windmill. (2)
