Prehistoric Axe (Bamburgh)

Stone axe-head, found at Glororum (Hamlet NU169333 OS 6" 1925) and now in the Callaly Museum. Length 4-3/8ins, breadth across cutting edge 2-1/8ins, and at other end 1in. (Callaly Museum is in Callaly Castle). (1)

The axe-head is of indurated shale and was found on 9th April 1897. (Photograph shows polished stone axe with narrow butt) (2)
