Between 6000 and 12,000 years ago, during a period archaeologists call the Mesolithic, people made these flint tools. One of the tools, a microlith, was used as part of the blade of a larger tool such as a knife or a sickle. The other tools were scrapers, used to prepare animal skins, and possibly for other purposes such as woodworking or preparing vegetables. They were found somewhere in Middleton, and are stored today at the Museum of Antiquities.
