Felton. Plantation c.1200. Burgage-type plots aligned along the main road. Market and fair granted in 1200. References to burgage tenants in 1323, 1373 and 1377. (1)

According to an Inquisition Post Mortem dated 1323, burgage (property in an ancient borough usually with a narrow street frontage and a long strip of land behind) tenants in Felton paid 46s in times of peace but now pay 8s. (a) (2a-b)
