Rugley deserted medieval village (Denwick)
The first record of Rugley is in a document dating to 1296. It also occurs in documents from the 15th to the 18th centuries, probably relating to the number of taxpayers in the village. The remains of a former village survive as earthworks and include enclosures and house sites probably dating back to the 18th century.
