Beal (Kyloe)

Ridge and furrow and other probably associated earthworks, surrounding Beal farmhouse. (1)

Documentary history. Earthworks seen on both sides of the road through the farm. (2)

A series of probable medieval/post medieval banks are visible as earthworks on air photographs, centred at NU 0664 4265. These features may be associated with the medieval settlement of Beal. The features appear to be largely extant on the latest 1987 Ordnance Survey vertical photography. (3a)
