Axe (Kyloe)
A Neolithic axe-head (5 1/4 inches long, oval in section, with pointed butt) found on the coast near Goswick (NU 0545) during drain digging by Mr T Short of Fenham Hall, was donated to the Society of Antiquaries Museum, Newcastle. (1)
The approximate find-spot, at NU 08754073, was indicated by Mr I A Short, (son of the finder), who was present at the time. It was recovered whilst lifting potatoes. He was unable to account for the PSAN siting to Goswick, but was certain that his father had made no discoveries there. (2)
