NU 077245: At least four, and possibly as many as nine, unenclosed round houses of ring bank type were located by aerial photography in March 1980 on a gently sloping terrace at Hepburn Crags. Scattered clearance cairns, fragments of baulking and small plots devoid of surface stone are indicative of field clearance in the houses' vicinity. At NU 07802453 protruding from the edge of a clearance cairn is a cup marked boulder. Surveyed at 1:1250. (1)

Eight possible Bronze Age unenclosed round houses and associated banks are visible as earthworks and structures on air photographs. The round houses lie at NU 0760 2452, NU 0771 2449, NU 0767 2429, NU 0779 2431, NU 0773 2429, NU 0773 2422 and NU 0796 2428. The features range in diameter from 9m to 12m and comprise either a bank or a bank of stones. Not all appear to have an entrance. The ring banks at NU 0771 2449 and NU 0773 2429 appear to have related banking or walling. A field system is represented by several areas of cleared stones and a number of clearance cairns which could not be adequately mapped. (4) (5a)
