Possible henge (Cheviotside)
Possible henge cropmark. A near circular ditched enclosure visible on aerial photographs. Overall diameter 30m, with broad 5m ditch. No visible causeways but broad ditch suggests henge rather than barrow. (1)(2)
The site may be that recorded as a double-ditched regular curvilinear enclosure within a student dissertation using Google Earth aerial photography. This site is recorded as a cropmark in the 2006 photographs, however this was located about 100m south-west of where this henge has been recorded. (3)
Cropmarks of a broad ring ditch were recorded from the air in 1979 at NU 024231. Visible on OS air photographs. The ditch was thought by Gates to be a possible "henge". (4a)
