Chatton Medieval Village (Tillside)
This is the site of the Medieval Village of Chatton. It was first mentioned in the 13th century. In 1253 it was given permission to hold a market and a fair. By the 17th century it was a typical, large Northumbrian village. The site is now occupied by the modern village but recent excavations have found some possible traces of the earlier settlement.
