Polished stone axe head, found near Percy's Cross (Hedgeley)
(Area NU 054191) A celt was found in June 1861, whilst draining in the field in which Percy's cross (NU 01 NE 2) stands. It is about 4ins long, of yellowish hard stone, axe shaped at one end, pointed at the other. It is now in the Museum of Alnwick Castle. Case E No 33). (1)
