Old Greenlaw Walls Colliery (Duddo)

NT 944418 Greenlaw Walls 'Cornish' pumping engine-house with tapering walls and pantiled roof may have been used as a dovecot at a later date. The engine has been removed but some of the timber flooring remains. This building is the one surviving feature of the former colliery shown as disused in 1896. (Presumably the Old Greenlaw Walls Colliery (Disused) shown on OS 6 inch 1st Ed 1866 at NT 94404200). Recommended as 'Defer'. No date given. (1)(2)
