Prehistoric or Roman period curvilinear enclosure 650m east of East Newbiggin (Norham)

Aerial photographs of this site show the cropmarks of a possible Roman period settlement. (1)

A prehistoric enclosure, centred at NT 9150 4612, is visible as a cropmark on air photographs. This feature is curvilinear in shape and is formed by a single 2m wide ditch. The south-western portion is overlaid by the A698. The measurable internal area is 0.11ha. (2a)
