Glanton Pyke was first built in the later part of the 18th century for John Mills. It was at first three bays around a central doorway. Later in 1829 the famous northern architect John Dobson was employed by Henry Collingwood to alter and extend this house. The house is now five bays arranged around a central doorway. The building uses typical Dobson favourites of ashlar and tooled stone. These elaborations include rusticated quoins. This is a Grade II Listed Building protected by law.
