Early Neolithic settlement, Milfield Airfield (Ewart)
Excavations in 1992 at Woodbridge Farm, on Milfield Airfield, revealed features such as gulleys, pits and post holes. Pottery found in some of these features was first identified as Iron Age, but later examination has shown that the sherds are early Neolithic Grimston ware. About seven pottery vessels are represented by the finds and the site has now been reinterpreted as a Neolithic settlement.
