Ford brick and tile works (Ford)

A brick and tile works was established in 1768 by Sir John Hussey Delaval, during improvements to the Ford Estate. It provided bricks and pantiles for the estate. By 1771 about 100,000 bricks, and the same number of pantiles, were being produced each year. This site was later used from 1860 to 1902 to produce a range of articles.
