St Michael is an early 13th century building restored and much altered in 1853. (2)
In normal use. At NT 9445337403 (not in situ) is a recumbent broken cross-base now placed by the buttress of the bell-cote. Its provenance is unknown. (3)
Church of St Michael and All Angels, Grade II* listed building. Parish church. 13th century, extensively restored 1853 by John Dobson. Interior: early 13th century two-bay south arcade has round piers and bases, octagonal capitals and pointed double-chamfered arches. 13th century head stop on west respond. North arcade and chancel arch by Dobson. Six medieval grave slabs or parts of slabs set in floor at west end of nave. (4)
Church contains a series of war memorials including:
* a three-part monument of a wall-mounted tablet, with illustration, flanked by two pillars inscribed "CENTRE: TO THE GLORIOUS MEMORY OF THE MEN OF/ THE PARISH OF FORD WHO MADE THE/ SUPREME SACRIFICE IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914 - 1919".
* a wall-mounted stone tablet "TO THE MEMORY OF THOSE/ FROM THE PARISH WHO/ DIED IN THE WORLD WAR/ 1939 - 1945./ (NAMES)". (5)(6)
