Earle, Yerdel and Yerdhil in 1255. (2)

Earle deserted medieval village, NT 987262. Earle was a member of the barony of Alnwick. 1296: eleven taxpayers. Armstrong's map of 1769 does not show a village. No evidence for the site of the medieval settlement, although this may have been at the present farm hamlet of Earle. (3)
