Cup and Ring Marked Stone (Wooler)

A boulder with incised cup, 2 rings and a duct, was found in pulling down an old house in Wooler. (1)

Presented to the Black Gate Museum, Newcastle, by Mr Brown (per Mr G Reavely Jnr) in 1895. (2)

Accession number 1896.2. (3)

Portable cup and ring mark [details as above]. Now in store of Museum of Antiquities, Newcastle upon Tyne. (5)

A quarried stone in the Museum of Antiquities, Newcastle, came from a demolished cottage at Wooler. It has been squared off, cutting the outer ring of three around a cup. (6a)
