Fourstones Paper Mill (Warden)
Fourstones Paper Mill was established in 1762 by the Rector of Hexham Abbey on the banks of the River South Tyne and is still operating. It was originally powered by a waterwheel and, although the ponds that supplied the water remain, the dam was destroyed in about 1920. The 18th and 19th century buildings are Grade II Listed Buildings protected by law.
