Main farmbuilding group to north of Park Farmhouse (Park Farm) (Denwick)
Early 19th century planned farmbuildings, dated 1827. Probably by J and B Green, with the Percy crescent on the entrance arch keystone. Later alterations probably late 19th century. Park Farm is the Duke of Northumberland's home farm in the parkland. (1)
The model farm buildings at Park Farm are by John Green, well-known for his severe and economical styles. This is a fine example of his work as the original layout was totally symmetrical with four matching corner pavilions and an impressive north front. The U-plan was open to the south towards the house, with the barn extending out from the centre of the east side. (2)
The Duke of Northumberland was responsible for rebuilding farms in the Alnwick area between 1805 and 1833. Of these only the Park Farm with its fine classical facade is known to survive. (3a)
