Bold Venture copper mine (Knaresdale with Kirkhaugh)

A copper mine was once worked on Knarsdale Common but closed in 1922. An entrance tunnel survives nearby. It has been suggested that the mine could have been worked in prehistoric times, possibly in the Early Bronze Age.
