Ancient boundary between Horsley and Ovingham (Ovingham; Horsley)

This has been the boundary between Horsley and Ovingham since the 12th century. Archaeologists think this may be a very ancient boundary, used at least since the Iron Age, because it runs along the eastern side of an Iron Age or Roman settlement. However, excavations in 2012 found no evidence of an early phase and suggest it was set out at the time of enclosure in the 18th or 19th century.
