Prehistoric Burial (Seaton Valley)

A cist, containing an inhumation and a perforated axe-hammer, was found in 1866 whilst draining the churchyard at Seghill [Area NZ 295751]. (1)

The incumbent at Seghill says that in 1866 the churchyard extended only from the church to the road on the south (i.e. the southern part of the present churchyard). The approximate find-spot therefore was at NZ 29497505. No further information. (2)
