Causey Park Hag (Tritlington and West Chevington)
An aerial photograph of this site shows the cropmarks of an almost square enclosure. Lidar assessment in 2018 identified traces of the enclosure and established that it is subrectangular and largely formed of two sections of ditch, about 0.5m deep in places but generally shallower. As well as ditch sections there are traces of a slight bank on the western side. The enclosure covers 2.2ha and faint traces of further potential enclosures were identified in the immediate vicinity. Geophysical survey in 2018 identified anomalies that may be associated with the enclosure. Evaluation in 2020 targeted the easternmost side of the possible enclosure; no feature was identified corresponding to the suggested location of the enclosure although two shallow gullies, aligned NE/SW was identified. The gullies were attributed to the a probably prehistoric phase of activity.
