Stone axe (Netherton with Biddlestone)
Included in the collection of the late D D Dixon, now exhibited at the Blackgate Museum, Newcastle, is a polished stone axe (Acc No 1932.14.2a) found at Low Burradon (Area NT 980056) by Mr R G Huggup. (1)
The axe is 3-1/4ins long, 2-3/8ins wide at the cutting edge, tapering to 1-1/2ins at the butt. It shows signs of use at both ends. (2)
